Bygone era back in vogue

Isadora D is a new boutique at 115 Jackson Street. Run by fashion designer Calli Neilson,
the boutique is full of clothes - and scarves - inspired by the glamour days of the 1920s, 30s and 50s. All are created by Calli, and the scarves especially evoke memories of legendary dancer Isadora Duncan, who died in 1927 when her flowing scarf caught in a rear wheel of her sports car. "I have mostly special-occasion wear," Calli says. "It's likely to be for the mother of the bride, as a ball gown or for a glamorous day at the races, but many of my customers buy for corporate day wear". Calli has come to Petone after operating a dressmaking and design business in Hawke's Bay.
