One of Lower Hutt’s most successful youth training and adventure organisations is opening its doors for new members to help build the skills they will need to deal with life.

No. 2 (Hutt City) Squadron Air Training Corps has been developing leadership potential for young people aged between 13-18 for the last 80 years!  Our cadets develop skills in first aid, bush craft, flying, and gliding and regularly help with community projects.  There is a well established training programme all the way through to officer training, with the potential for the Air Force to become a career for those that want it, if not then this is a fun way to be develop your CV!

There are currently 16 members who actively support the community by parading and providing support at ANZAC Day ceremonies run by Lower Hutt RSA, Citizenship Ceremonies run by the Lower Hutt City Council, and supporting community events like the Petone Xmas parade.

Flying Officer Patrick Hipgrave, commanding officer of the unit, is excited to announce that from the 3rd February 2021 No. 2 Squadron Air Cadets will be meeting each Wednesday evening from 18:30 (during term time) at the new location of Woburn Bowling Club, Massey Ave, and we are looking forward to welcoming our prospective new members.
